SUSTAINABLE BUILDING: WEGREENIT AND KERAKOLL,
A GREEN PARTNERSHIP FOR THE RETROFITTING OF SUPER CONDOMINIUMS

The 40 million construction site in via Mar Nero in Milan is underway:
estimated savings of 35% on electricity bills

WeGreenIt Kerakoll, two leading companies in the construction sector, which operate under the banner of environmental sustainability, continue the commercial and technical partnership aimed at the redevelopment of super condominiums throughout the Italian territory.

The WeGreenIt group operates as a General Contractor in energy efficiency interventions in the residential, industrial and hotel sectors. A booming company, WeGreenIt currently has 40 active construction sites and over 100 in the planning stages.

Kerakoll, a leading international benefit corporation in the sustainable construction sector, offers a global solution in terms of materials and services for building and living with respect for the environment and domestic well-being.

The first construction site resulting from the collaboration between WeGreenIt and Kerakoll is the super condominium Mar Nero – Nikolajevka, in the Baggio district, in western Milan. The complex includes 18 buildings, for a total of 550 real estate units, which, following the energy efficiency interventions carried out thanks to the Ecobonus 110%, will benefit from an estimated saving of 35% on the energy bill and from a production of energy from both thermal and electric renewable energy sources. The total economic value of the intervention is of approx. 40 million euro.

As the General Contractor, WeGreenIt takes care of all the technical, commercial and financial services necessary for the implementation of the interventions, their design and the coordination of the construction phases.

Kerakoll has made available the Genius Lab digital platform, which makes it possible to quickly evaluate construction sites in order to identify access to the desired bonuses, determine the construction site rating based on technical/administrative specificities, evaluate the economic magnitude of its activities and identify the Kerakoll solutions and cycles that can be used. In this specific construction site, Kerakoll technologies have made it possible to access the leading interventions for the thermal insulation of surfaces with insulating materials meeting the Minimum Environmental Criteria, using the KlimaExpert range, complete with specific ETA-certified solutions.

For Kerakoll, sustainability has always been one of the axes of development and the company recently adopted the status of “Benefit Corporation” confirming its vocation for combining business with the principles of social and environmental sustainability in every aspect of corporate life, creating concrete actions for the well-being of its employees, consumers, local area, suppliers and partners.

Among the interventions envisaged by the WeGreenIt design plan, there is also the upgrading of the heating system for domestic heat and hot water, the installation of a photovoltaic system on the roof combined with storage systems, and the replacement of window and door insulation systems. We have been collaborating exclusively with Kerakoll for more than two years now. It is important for us to renew this virtuous agreement in view of the numerous new projects in which we are involved. Especially in this moment of great expansion for the WeGreenIt group – declared the President and CEO Fabrizio Candoni – we are moving throughout Italy and will soon open 4 new offices, in Verona, Pesaro, Genoa and Livorno. Now more than ever we need strong allies who, like us, believe in smart, efficient and sustainable construction.

“Thanks to the Superbonus 110%, our country is faced with a unique opportunity to upgrade its building stock and enhance the sustainability of its territories – said Claudio Motta, General Manager of the Kerakoll Group – In this context, Kerakoll operates as a strategic partner, supporting the various actors in all phases of the construction and renovation processes, responding to multiple needs ranging from aesthetic to safety, to the health of those who live in the buildings, to ensure 360-degree well-being. We like the idea of helping to build better places to live in with our solutions and services, and we like to do it together with others, possibly together with those – professionals, craftsmen, businesses and building users – who share the same passion for excellence and for doing things well. In this sense, we have found an ideal partner in Wegreenit, with whom we share the same vision of sustainability understood as a non-negotiable pillar for building a better future”.

The energy requalification works were financed by Monte dei Paschi di Siena Bank, which recently signed an agreement with WeGreenIt for the transfer of approximately 100 million euros of tax credits.
