A partnership for the energetic requalification and ecological transition of Italian real estate assets in support of social and environmental sustainability.Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena and Wegreenit, a leading company in the sustainable construction sector, have signed an agreement for the sale of approx. 100 million euros in tax credits generated following the energetic requalification interventions included in the regulations of the Relaunch Decree, as part of the measures of the Superbonus 110%.
Wegreenit is a General Contractor in energy efficiency operations. As a certified ESCo, it takes care of all technical, commercial, and financial services. With 360 condominiums already under construction and over 40 construction open sites, Wegreenit operates in the residential, industrial, hotel and public sectors. The company is present in various areas of Italy, particularly in Lombardy (especially in Milan), Marche and Tuscany (where it has two construction sites open for the redevelopment of social housing in Livorno and Lucca).
According to the agreement, Banca MPS will support Wegreenit in carrying out the works, through a specific revolving credit line of 10 million euro, aimed at paying the invoices related to the construction sites.
The collaboration will allow the company to continue the process of energetic redevelopment and ecological transitioning of Italian real estate assets, through the renovation of buildings that no longer meet housing standards in terms of energy consumption.
The financing operation will thus favour the recovery of an important part of the housing stock and the economic relaunch of the construction sector, while paying particular attention to environmental sustainability objectives.
“Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena stands by the country’s businesses, supporting development and growth projects – commented Alessandro Faienza, General Manager of the Tuscan Branch of Banca Mps – The agreement with Wegreenit goes in this direction and confirms the closeness of our bank to companies operating in the area, bringing added value to the whole community. The operation helps push forward economic recovery, through the enhancement of real estate assets and the redevelopment of important urban realities, with particular attention to issues of social and environmental sustainability.”
“We are very proud of the partnership with Monte dei Paschi di Siena, a prestigious bank, whose professionalism and result-oriented approach we appreciate – declared Fabrizio Candoni, President and CEO of Wegreenit – This agreement represents an important step for Wegreenit, because it gives us the opportunity to finance projects already identified in our pipeline up to a ceiling of approximately 100 million euro.”
Wegreenit was assisted in the financing by Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena and by the Eptalex law firm, with a legal team led by partner Gabrio Antonioli and senior associate Amine Moughanime.
